Hello again!

They answered me also today. Their answer was exactly this: "DO NOT WORRY. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE BOXES ARE BLANK OR CHECKED. "

I also asked them about the binding of the documents. I told them that I bind ony the pages of the application file and the CV's pages for the reason that pages of these documents were more than one. They told me this is not a mistake and don't worry again. So, if there are people in here that did also that like me, forget any worry!!!!

I thought it would be good to mention their answer! Have a good night!

Hey guys! I just wanted to let you know that last year I was pre-selected and shortlisted, (but didn't receive an official invitation Sad ) and when I sent the application in I made sure to not "bind" it, but I did separate each part with paper clips, in order according to the main application, with post-its on each section pointing out what I thought was important for them to notice (like my French, Spanish and Italian courses AT university while doing my BA in Economics). This year I did the same, and so it wouldn't bend too much I put it in a folder.

So, I think that as long as they receive the documents as they mentioned, and you don't make them waste time by "unbinding" them (paper clips are fine), everything is fine. I used post-its to point out the important points to be registered, making it easier for whomever is reviewing to get the information needed quickly. I think that´s good, not bad. Or I hope! It worked last year, let's hope it works this year too!

Good luck!

Hey guys! It's my first time and I also wonder whether it counts where are you from. I mean whether they have any limits for candidates from each country or they just select those who suit their needs best? Does anybody know anything?

Hi, it's my first time too and I'd like to know... do they make the phone interviews before the preselection or after the preselection? Does everyone receives a phone interview or just the best candidates?

Hello there Texas! The answer is "YES!", it counts where you are from. Each year they pick an X amount of candidates from each European country (they choose the amount of candidates from each country depending on their staffing needs), and then they take in a few non-European candidates. Therefore, if you are European, your application will be judged based on the quality of the applications of people from your country.

Aneta, the phone interviews come AFTER pre-selection. Most DG's will interview candidates before hiring them, especially if they have a few to chose from and they are not sure whom to hire. Some other DG's call up the trainees they want to hire and have an "informal" interview, or more like a "You got the job" interview. BUT, some other DG's don't even call their preselected candidates. They just send the official letter without any calls in between. So... I hope my answer helped.

Should we know about the pre-selection in the mid of May or June? On the website it says June. I am confused, because I think it used to be mid of May for the pre-selection results

Do you remember how was it for the last October edition? I think it was mid-May. Perhaps the Commission is loaded with tons of applications and are giving themselves a month of extra time.
