Although I think many DGs/Units do interview or at least check the interest and availability of the candidates by calling them during the selection phase, definitely not all of them do that.

I am a current trainee and was not called, but got selected.

I never got a phone call and still was selected after having lobbied with the unit of my interest. I was already very depressed, since I really fitted into the profile and worked a lot on the topic, and then - surprise - I got the email with the traineeship offer. So you never know, however most of the trainees I've known had a phone interview.

Do you know when they are starting to send the offers???
