PostSubject: rock climbing / French lessons   Thu Sep 13, 2012 11:03 am

Hi everyone!

Here's a post unrelated to selection or housing Smile
I'm looking for a rock climbing buddy or buddies to go climbing with at a hall during the week, and possibly outdoors in the weekend. Anyone interested?
Another thing I'm hoping to do whilst in Brussels is taking French lessons. Does anyone have any recommendations on that?

Thanks!

There is a climbing club at the European Commission, once you are already there you can contact me in a private message and I will give you the contact details of the person organising it. They meet in the evenings after work, but there are also many outdoor activities on the weekends. I would surely recommend it to you.

About language classes:
The cheapest and most popular option is EPFC:

The deadline for application might have however already passed, you need to check that.

Alliance Francaise offers special courses to trainees at a special price, but I heard many stagiaires complaining that despite the discount the classes are far overpriced.

There are also classes at Institut Marie Haps, next to the European Parliament:

Why do you say that Alliance Francaise offers special courses to trainees at a special price? I called them yesterday and asked if there was any discount for trainees of the EC and they said no...

OK then Alliance Francaise used to offer special classes at special prices when I was trainee and a bit afterwards as well, as I knew trainees that came later who joined those classes. The info is then outdated.
